Our Studio 3 course had us research, prototype, design, market to eventually ship a mobile game to the Google Play Store.
Slime Herder is a puzzle game with some inspiration taken from the classic game 'Lemmings'. The goal is to help adorable smiles traverse each level safely. Slimes will move around on their own however if tapped they swap to an alternate behaviour such as crawling up walls or becoming a bounce pad for other slimes.
The project was developed over about 10 weeks with a core team of 3 (designer, 2 x programmers) and several collaborators who created audio and visual assets. The core objective of the project was to learn how to research the current market and to design a game with a target audience in mind. This also provided a foundation understanding of the android development pipeline.
A SlideDB page was also created to assist in promotion and to document parts of our development process.
